Deprecation Policy
What happens to a shipped surface when it changes, and what is and is not promised today.
Stability levels
| Level | Meaning |
|---|---|
| GA | A breaking change gets a new dated version. Your pinned version keeps its existing behavior. |
| Beta | Operations marked beta in the reference may still change shape between releases. Each such change is announced in the changelog. |
| Preview | No compatibility promise. Preview surfaces may change or disappear without a new version. |
Breaking versus not
Only a breaking change creates a new dated version. Adding endpoints, fields, enum values, or webhook event types does not. Versioning lists what counts as breaking and how a request's version is resolved.
Deprecated fields and operations
A field or operation marked deprecated in the reference keeps working on the version where it was marked. Its description names the replacement to use instead.
Retirement
Wefunder has not yet published a support window, a minimum notice period, or a retirement timeline for dated versions or deprecated surfaces. No released version has been retired. When a version or surface stops being served, the change is announced in the changelog.
